A high-strength nickel-plated steel wire with excellent corrosion resistance and formability, produced by applying nickel plating to the surface of piano wire, processing and drawing to the final wire diameter.

Features

Nickel-plated steel wire is made by applying nickel plating to the surface of piano wire and then drawing the wire to the final diameter, resulting in the beautiful glossy finish.

・Excellent corrosion resistance
The plating process is strictly controlled to ensure uniform plating thickness and a thick plating layer without pinholes, resulting in high corrosion resistance.

・Excellent formability
Nickel-plated steel wire for springs is subject to strict control of wire diameter tolerance and flatness, resulting in a smooth and uniform surface with excellent formability (coiling and foming), which improves the yield during forming.

・No Temper Color
Nickel plating prevents temper coloration.

Caution

When tempering, use ordinary piano wire as the tempering material since the core material is piano wire. However, it is recommended that the tempering be done at the lowest possible temperature (below 250°C) to ensure good solderability.
